Niagara University

The Theta Omega chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma was founded on April 18th, 1998 here at Niagara University. We were the first sorority and we are the oldest greek life on the Niagara University Campus.

 

Phi Sigma Sigma - Theta Omega Executive board

  • Archon: Emily Najjar

Archon: The president of Phi Sigma Sigma. It shall be the duty of the Archon to preside at all meetings of the chapter. She shall call all special meetings, and enforce due observance of and compliance with, the Ritual, Constitution, Policies and Bylaws of Phi Sigma Sigma; and perform such other duties as usually devolve upon a presiding officer and executive head of an organization. She shall be an ex-officio member of all standing and emergency committees. She shall supervise chapter and interchapter relations and activites. With the assistance of the Vice Archon, she shall interpret the constitution and policies of the chapter. She shall be the chapter's official representative to National Phi Sigma Sigma meetings.

  • Vice Archon: Robyn Roehm

Vice Archon: It shall be the duty of the Vice Archon to perform the duties of the Archon in her absence. She shall be custodian of the Ritual and she shall enforce due observance of and compliance with the Ritual, Constituion, Policies and Bylaws. She shall be responsible for fraternity education.She shall implement the Chapter Constitution and traditions. She shall serve as an ex-officio member of the Judical Board. She shall chair the Constitution Committee and help supervise chapter chairmen and committees, including officer transition.

  • Sisterhood Development Chair: Jessica DePalma

Sisterhood Development Chair: The SDC oversees the administrative and educational activities of new members as well as active members as set forth in the Reflections Program.

  • Scribe/Tribune: Miki Koningisor

Scribe: The Scribe is responsible for making sure that the reports are filled out by the officers and sent to National on time. This sister also also keeps the chapter up to date with National and Local Correspondence.

Tribune: The Tribune is responsible for taking the minutes of each meeting and taking roll call. The tribune is also required to make sure each sister receives a copy of the minutes if they were not at the meeting.

  • Member at Large/ Parlimentarian: Brittany Justice

Member-at-Large: The MAL keeps control in the chapter, makes sure everyone achieves points for the month, and is the liaison between the chapter and nationals.

  • Bursar: Juliana Donner

Bursar: Keeps track of the chapter's funds and makes sure each sister is current on paying dues and other monies due to other committees.

  • Panhellenic Delegate:Kristina Buckmaster 

Panhellenic Delegate: The chapter delegate serves as our representative on the Panhellenic Council and serves as a liaison between the chapter and the rest of the Greek community.

  • Membership Recruitment Chair: Candace Hall

Membership Recruitment Chair: The MRC is responsible for organizing recruitment events so the sorority may continue to grow and prosper

Phi Sigma Sigma Councils

Fundraising Chairman: Jessica Clovis 

This sister shall plan events to raise money for the group.

Philanthropy Chairman: Megan Touron

This sister shall plan and supervise philanthropic events which involve volunteer work for a good cause, as determinded by the chapter.

Scholarship Chairman: Michelle Rosenberg

This sister shall oversee each member's academic progress. A scholarship program for the chapter must be developed. This coucil also provies feedback to members who do well or show progress.

Social Chairman: Victoria Meyvis

This sister is responsible in planning events in which sisters and/or other students are to attend. These events are fun and help the sisters get to know eachother and other students better. s.

Chapter Excellence Chairman: Amy Park

This sister is responsible for the upkeep of the chapter archives which consist of past and present memorabilia, pictures, etc. which will serve as an asset to national at the time of the Ventennial and in perpertuity. In addition, this council member is in charge of making a slide show for events such as Parent's Day.

Public Relations Chairman: Victoria Meyvis

This sister is resposible for posters, banners, and publicity for Phi Sigma Sigma events. They will work with all other committees to write press releases. The committee is also responsible for writing a brief acticle for the national magazine, The SPHINX.

Risk Management Chairman: Michelle Rosenberg

The Risk Management chair ensures that the chapter takes full measure in ensuring the safety of its members at all times.

Sisterhood Chairman: Megan Touron

This sister shall plan sisterhood activites for members only. The committee is responsible for planning a senior farewell for the graduating seniors.

Parents Chairman: Michelle Rosenberg

This sister is responsible for organizing events throughout the year for parents. This includes a Parent's Day onve per semester and a semester newsletter.

Health & Wellness Chairman:

This sister shall conduct an on-going program to develop an understanding and appreciation for Health & Wellness.

Sunshine Chairman: Jessica Clovis

This sister shall keep up the spirit of the chapter. This includes sending birthday cards, notes, and holiday greetings to members.

Multicultural & Diversity Chairman:

This sister shall conduct an on-going program to develop an understanding and appreciation for different cultures.

Alumnae Chairman: Emily Najjar

This sister is responsible for keeping in touch with our Alumnae sisters. She shall keep Alumnae up-dated on our events and send out a monthly newsletter.

Historian/Song Chairman: Candace Hall

This sister shall maintain a binder full of the chapters traditional songs. She will also plan activites for the chapter to re-learn old songs and make new ones for the chapter to share together.
